In October 2024 it felt like I could hear complacency hiding around the corner next to a face-up metal rake on the ground.

I stopped making time for personal design projects – I'd been balancing part-time design work for an employer with freelance client work, without room for much else.

That October I spent a lot of time browsing art museum archives, downloading 100s of new fonts, watching Photoshop tutorials, and breaking down/analyzing anything I found inspiring.

More than anything else, this challenge reminded me how fun it is to improve.
